Activities

To give you an idea of the types of activities you will participate in, we have detailed some of the things the Hunter Leaders of 07 got up to...

Leadership development: events designed to investigate leadership styles, development areas, with different programmes designed to challenge and give you the chance to realise what your potential is and how you can realise it.

Citizenship: Working at the Clinton Global Initiative annual event hearing inspirational global leaders talking about world issues and making real commitments to make a difference. Then travelling to Malawi for 3 weeks, to work for CHDI. The Hunter Leaders lived in rural Malawi for 3 weeks and worked on building a school, collecting wheat with farmers, getting to know local villagers and working with Partners in Health.

UK Charity placements: each Hunter Leader spent 1-2 weeks working with some of our key charity partners including BBC Children in Need, Homeless World Cup, Comic Relief and Cash for Kids.

Internships: each internship has been tailored made to incorporate the individuals' career aspirations.

Other activities: individual and group challenges given by The Hunter Foundation; outdoor challenges with Jamie Andrew (the quadriplegic Scottish mountaineer); attending the Entrepreneurial Exchange awards dinner; Ernst & Young business challenge; meeting the First Minister of Scotland; philanthropy workshop.

Alumni

Once you have become a Hunter Leader you will become a member of the Alumni. This will give you access to those who have participated in the programme before you. As the programme develops from year to year, the alumni will expand into a group of likeminded people who will be able to help support each other and hopefully will be able to help provide advice, knowledge and opportunity for each person to achieve their goals.

You will remain alumni forever, giving you a unique access in your future to some of Scotland's most determined people. In return for becoming a member you will have an ongoing responsibility to mentor others within the course. All members will have shared many experiences but you will each have your own skills and abilities. By utilizing the abilities of the group, everybody will have a far greater chance of success.

The alumni will ensure that the Hunter Leadership Programme continues to be of help to you in the future.

Thanks

We would like to thank Henri Lloyd, TL Risk Solutions and TISO for their support throughout the pilot programme
